Announcing the Research Software Support Network

We are excited to announce that the Johns Hopkins University Research Software Support Network (RSSN) has been funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation!

About the RSSN

Launching in early 2026, the Research Software Support Network will be a centralized resource hub connecting researchers who develop software with essential support services across Johns Hopkins University. Governed by a community of campus partners, the RSSN will provide pathways to expertise, tools, and best practices, enabling researchers and software engineers of all skill levels to create more robust and sustainable research software.

Coming Soon!

  • Research Software Assessments: Collaborative consultations to help researchers identify project goals and support needs
  • Service Matching: Connections to campus expertise in software engineering, sustainability planning, and best practices
  • Strategic Project Funding: Targeted support for projects with needs not currently met by existing services
  • Community Building: Open houses and events connecting researchers and service providers across campus

Our Partners

The OSPO is proud to partner with the Johns Hopkins Data Science and AI Institute (DSAI), Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV), and IT@JH Research IT in building this network, and we look forward to expanding our partnerships across campus.
