The Johns Hopkins University Open Source Programs Office (OSPO) is happy to announce the next in our Explainer series, a collection of bite-sized videos tackling a variety of open-source essentials.

This explainer video shows how to improve your research software citations by adding a Digital Object identifier (DOI) to your repository. Discover how DOIs provide context, transparency, and streamline information flow, making research more accessible and impactful. We’ll also show you how to get a DOI for your code using the JHU Research Data Repository and open access platforms, or by publishing in a journal.

Look out later this year for Explainers about Software Management Plans and Open Source Project Governance.

Have an idea for an Explainer? We’d love to hear it! Please reach out to ospo@jhu.edu
