In November 2023, the Johns Hopkins University Open Source Programs Office (OSPO) launched the Free and Open Source Project Fund (FOSSProF), a community-driven program that provides direct support to open source practitioners at Hopkins. FOSSProF is an excellent tool for the OSPO to learn about and connect with open source projects across campus, improving our understanding of their challenges, the factors that contribute to their success, and how the OSPO can best support their needs.

The first round of awards was announced in February 2024, with nine projects across five academic divisions selected to receive over $250,000 in FOSSProF funding – Learn about the grantees for the 2024 FOSS Project Fund

FOSSProF is generously funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Help us build a thriving open source community at Hopkins!
